An Invitation to Human-Data Interaction – Feminist Qualities from the Homepage

Abstract

One of the challenges in the Human-Data Interaction field is to promote Data Literacy. We believe that a welcoming environment, built on the qualities of Feminist HCI, can spark people’s interest in developing the skills needed to build Data Literacy. Thus, in this article we present the example of an experience evaluating the first prototype of an open data platform on gender equity in leadership positions in the STEM area. The report is set in the context of a research project involving three Latin American countries. The results indicate the need to contemplate pluralism since from the platform’s home page.
