Programming with the Family: A Gender Analysis of Code.org Activities
Abstract
This article presents the experience of a workshop on introduction to programming, based on activities from Code.org, for children aged from 7 to 12 and their parents. Paired programming was a technique used in the workshop. We made a gender-based analysis of children's performance reports. As a whole, we noticed that, although boys completed more levels in the activities, girls presented a shorter code.
