The Workshop on Slicing Theory, Technologies, and Applications (WSlice) is an event held by SBC since 2019, as part of the Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC). Thus, WSlice aims to integrate researchers and developers from both academia and industry who are developing research, projects and prototypes centered on the concept of slicing in the broader sense. In this way, the WSlice emerges as a forum for technical presentations of ongoing research and relevant activities in the areas of cloud computing and virtualized infrastructure, services and applications in several areas, bringing together researchers and practitioners who actively participate in the provisioning of slicing solutions in these areas. Finally, this workshop aims to be an environment for the establishment of multi-institutional collaborative networks and groups of technical and scientific competence, as well as to encourage the discussion of incipient topics and still not defined directions within its scope. The Proceedings of WSlice are published yearly, bringing the articles selected for each edition of the event.

Topics of Interest

WSlice topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Methods and models for the design of slices that meet different scenarios and verticals
  • Mechanisms of slice control and programming
  • Mechanisms for the creation and deployment of slices with guarantees of isolation
  • Interaction strategies with tenants
  • Mapping mechanisms between slices and services
  • Slice segmentation strategies
  • Scalable resource partitioning
  • Elasticity of slices
  • Autonomous architectures for management and operation of slices
  • Security mechanisms in slices
  • Slices in multi-domain environments
  • Slice monitoring mechanisms and architectures
  • Strategies for the provisioning and evaluation of QoS/QoE in slice environments
  • Projects for adapting existing infrastructures to the concept of slices
