Implementation and evaluation of an Educational Digital Game for the development of Computational Thinking in neurotypical children and those with Intellectual Disabilities

Abstract


Computational Thinking (PC) combined with Educational Digital Games (EDG), applied to neurotypical and disabled students, can help in the development of intellectual skills as long as they have accessibility resources. Focusing on Intellectual Disability (ID), this work presents the implementation and evaluation of a JDE, which aims to promote CP for neurotypical and ID children. The game's development was based on accessibility guidelines and specialists from different areas. Finally, the game was evaluated with neurotypical children and with ID and, as a result, accessibility was verified and the perceptions of children and teachers regarding the game and its ability to promote CP were obtained.
