Virtual Curator: an application to help in the reading of images
Abstract
This article describes the Virtual Curator application, which aims to help art teachers in the elaboration of classes that encourage the aesthetic development of students through the reading of images. The Virtual Curator was developed from the adaptation of an existing system and its target audience encompasses the teachers and students of the arts discipline, aiming to supply the current lack of resources employing the reading of images in art teaching. As a result, we made an application prototype, a system consisting of an image gallery, a timeline and some scripts for analyzing the works.
