LANSE: Prevention and Intervention Platform for Academic Risk in Educational Environments
Abstract
The LANSE project is a cloud-based solution that offers academic risk prediction services and visualizations of student interactions. The current MVP version utilizes Moodle data and consists of two tools: machine learning models that provide weekly predictions of dropout and failure risks, and an analytical dashboard that visualizes access patterns and aids in the management of users and the workload of tutors and teachers. LANSE allows educational institutions to quickly identify at-risk students and proactively intervene, applying corrective methods in a timely manner. The visualizations of student interactions provide valuable insights, facilitating informed decisions to improve educational trajectories. Thus, the LANSE solution not only eases the technical management for IT teams but also enhances the monitoring and support of academic development, contributing to better educational outcomes and reducing dropout rates.
