THE LEGEND OF THE TREASURE: Measures of Central Tendency and Measures of Dispersion
Abstract
The present article describes the characteristics and functionalities of the digital game “The Legend of the Treasure: Measures of Central Tendency and Measures of Dispersion,” whose objective is to assess high school students' learning on the topics of measures of central tendency and dispersion (mean, median, mode, mean deviation, variance, and standard deviation), promoting an alternative form of assessment different from traditional models. We used the methodology of Game Learning Analytics, which allows the analysis of students' behavior during the game's execution in the classroom. Additionally, the game proves to be an effective tool, contributing to the improvement of statistics teaching, providing students with an educational and interactive experience during the assessment process.
