ThinkTest: A Platform for Testing Educational Games and Gamification

Abstract


With the significant increase in the development of educational games, it has become essential to validate and test their effectiveness to ensure that educational objectives are met, as well as to enhance the users' learning experience. However, developers often face challenges due to the lack of adequate tools to assist in this validation process. To address this need, this work presents ThinkTest, a web platform designed to facilitate the testing of educational games. ThinkTest offers a comprehensive environment that allows for the organization of testing groups and the creation of custom forms for data collection, supporting the development of various types of questionnaires and assessments. It enables tests to be adjusted as needed, and also allows users to choose validated tests from the literature available in the system, making the organization and planning of tests faster and more efficient. With integrated graphs and analytical tools, the platform provides a clear and comprehensive visualization of data, helping developers interpret results effectively. Thus, this work presents ThinkTest as a robust solution to the challenges faced in the validation of educational games.
