Ergonomic Evaluation of Graphic Interfaces for Mobile Applications: Limits and Reflections

Abstract

Mobile applications are of strategic importance for companies as they enable easy access and greater proximity to their users. With this in mind, verifying that the interface components meet the design requirements is crucial to ensure the acceptance of these applications by the end user. This article examines the applicability of the Ergonomic Criteria developed in the 1990s to support usability testing of mobile devices by design and/or system evaluation teams. The empirical results show that, with some adaptations, they are also efficient for the inspection of mobile applications.
