Social Networks in Biochemistry classes: An Interaction and significant Learning instrument

Abstract

This article aims to report an experience of teaching biochemistry using the social network Facebook as a technological platform for virtual moments in that discipline. The experience took place at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, in the discipline of biochemistry, with 60 hours of workload, from the Licentiate Degree in Physical Education course. To assess the purpose of the article, three publications posted in the virtual environment were analyzed. The experience reported shows that the use of facebook proved to be effective not only for posting and anticipating content to be worked on in the classroom, but as a tool capable of encouraging interaction and cooperation in learning, as well as causing the class time goes beyond the face-to-face moments of the discipline.
