Abstract

Soft Skills are personality traits and habits that influence our relationships. Although they are important for professionals in different areas, including information technology, there is a need to assess the understanding and applicability of this concept. Thus, the present study evaluated the importance of Soft Skills in the context of IT professionals. Based on 62 responses, it was found that most of these professionals recognize the relevance of these skills. Teamwork, Responsibility and Communication were the most relevant Soft Skills. It is concluded that, in addition to technical skills, interpersonal and behavioral skills are essential in the area of information technology and should receive due attention from companies and IT professionals.
