Accessibility and Digital Identity: a case study about the adequacy of the institutional portal of the Catarinense Federal Institute

Abstract


The general orientations and practices in the implementation of governmental portals are based on many standards. Therefore, this paper seeks to present an overview of the adoption of these standards via a case study and adaptation of the institutional portal of an educational institution. These goals were divided in two periods: (a) reimplement the existing website considering the current accessibility standards, following the advocated models, the web standards, the Lei de Acesso à Informação and the Decreto n o 5.296, of 2004 from the Federal Government of Brazil and; (b) improve the applications’ administrative area fulfilling the security criteria and scale in adherence to the governmental standards offering accessibility and ubiquitous access.
