Abstract

Fog computing is a paradigm that allows the provisioning of computational resources and services at the edge of the network, closer to the end devices and users, with lower latency, complementing cloud computing. The heterogeneity and large number of devices are challenges to obtain optimized resource provisioning in this environment. Although some publications have dealt with resource management in fog computing, there no concesus about the steps that compose it. To fill the gap, this article presents an analysis and proposes a definition to the resource provisioning in fog computing.
