Using UX/UI Design in an Educational Platform: A Case Study in Federal Institutes of Education

Abstract


This work describes the development of an institutional app prototype to enhance the academic experience at the Federal Institutes of Education, Science, and Technology (IFs). Using Figma for prototyping, the goal was to create an intuitive and effective interface for students and teachers. The study adopted a user-centered design to understand the users' demands and challenges, consolidating academic functionalities, such as grade and cafeteria information, into a single accessible space. The methodology included theoretical review, prototype development, and usability testing with the academic community and design specialists. The results were positive, with 54.5% of students rating the experience as "Excellent" and 45.5% as "Good," and 100% of specialists rating the interface as "Excellent." The study combined UX/UI Design theories with a practical approach, resulting in a functional prototype that unifies academic tools and promotes interaction within the IF community.
