IoT System for Monitoring Apis Mellifera Beehives
Abstract
The adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the beekeeping sector is crucial for addressing the contemporary challenges of honey production. This article presents a monitoring system for honeybee hives (Apis Mellifera), operating in apiaries in the Ceará hinterland. By utilizing sensors for temperature, humidity, weight, and a magnetic sensor, the system transmits real-time data via LoRa technology. The tests showed promising results, reducing visits to the apiary and improving management by the beekeeper. The project is developed in collaboration with local beekeepers, allowing for a closer understanding of the real needs that the application must address, making it feasible for honey producers to implement.References
