Abstract

A unique digital identity in cyberspace is essential for identifying devices, people or objects. The Self-Sovereign Identity (Identidade Digital Autossoberana) (SSI) model is a new decentralized paradigm that allows entities to manage their own identities reliably, eliminating dependence on certification organizations. In this context, this work explores the use of the SSI model in the ecosystem that involves the cotton production chain, modeling the UBA entity. With this, it seeks to analyze how self-sovereign identities can be effectively used to promote trust and transparency in the chain, with the potential to solve challenges related to the authenticity, certification and traceability of cotton.
