User Experience Evaluation of Different Regions of Brazil on News Sites: A North and South Case Study

Abstract


News sites are one of the main means of obtaining information in Brazil. According to the Digitals New Report, (83%) of Brazilians consume news online, including on social media sites. However, the authors report the absence of studies on User Experience on news sites. Thus, this work aims to evaluate the experiences of users from different Brazilian regions (North and South) in reading G1, R7, Metrópoles, Uol Notícias, and Terra, the most accessed news sites in Brazil according to the Comscore Ranking. This evaluation is supported by the T2-UXT (Tracking Techniques Based User Experience Evaluation Tool) which allows tracking of the mouse, keyboard, and eyes, comparing the data obtained by this tool with the opinion of the participants of this research, through the Quis Test ( adapted from UX heuristics). Upon completion, this research aims to report a better understanding of how the user experience on news sites occurs and to identify whether Brazilian social differences interfere in this process.
