Interface Reengineering of an Educational Game Using Interaction Design and Usability Principles
Abstract
Educational games are increasingly present in classrooms. However, the development of these games does not follow basic steps required by the gaming industry, such as the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles. This poster presents a case study of the application of interaction design and usability principles in the interface reengineering of the game ProComunique. Initially, an interface design for reengineering this educational game was defined and applied. Subsequently, a group of six experts evaluated the interface of this game according to ISO/IEC 9126. We hope that this research may encourage the use of HCI principles in the development of educational games, in order to support the teaching-learning process.
