Perséfone: An informative website about methodscontraceptives for teenagers

Abstract

Adolescence represents a significant milestone in a woman’s life due to the numerous physiological and psychological transformations that occur during this stage. Furthermore, this phase can become even more complex when a teenager experiences pregnancy, potentially posing risks to both the mother and the fetus. The lack of access to reliable information on sexual education and contraceptive methods is one of the factors that contributes to worsening the issue. In light of this, the main objective of this study is to develop an informative web application that provides secure and accessible data on contraceptive methods for all women, with a focus on teenagers, regardless of their social class. To achieve this, a literature review was conducted, serving as a basis for defining the website's functionalities. The web application is under development, using JavaScript (including Node.js), HTML, CSS and MySQL technologies. So far, an initial prototype of the web application has been created on the Canva platform, demonstrating interactions between the application and the user. Use case diagrams and entity-relationship diagrams (ERD) have also been developed. It is expected that the application will provide clear and reliable information on sexual education and contraceptive methods, raising awareness among teenagers and helping them better understand their bodies and choose the most suit.
