Play Blow - A Game to Assist in Respiratory Physiotherapy
Abstract
Respiratory physiotherapy can be demotivating for children who suffer from chronic respiratory diseases, as they use devices made up of hose systems that move objects with the generated air, which are playfully unattractive. Playful scenarios inserted in digital games can simulate exercises for this purpose. This work presents Play Blow, a game to assist in physiotherapy. For this, hardware captures data from blowing through a breathing device and transmits it to the game. Minigames on a cell phone simulate the exercises. The captured data is available for future analysis. Initial hardware and game tests have been performed, and based on the results and feedback, improvements are being developed.
