Detection of leukocytes in intravital microscopy video images
Abstract
Automatic detection and tracking of rolling and adhered leukocytes in intravital video microscopy are of great importance for researchers in the the study of various inflammatory conditions. In this work, two computational schemes based on the Hough transform were developed to detect leukocytes in intravital video microscopy. Preliminary results of this study showed that a computational scheme combining the Hough transform and the Laplacian operator is promising for detecting leukocytes. Results are presented illustrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.
