Abstract

The heel prick test, performed in the first days of a baby's life, detects important neonatal diseases that, if treated and monitored early, guarantee a better quality of life for the child. Making the tests available at collection sites speeds up the actions of health professionals in case of abnormal screening results. Considering this context, the Neonatal Screening Reference Service of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), developed an online system to make the heel prick test available in a practical and safe manner to all collection sites within the scope of this service.
