Unplugged Computing in the Programming Discipline with Database Access: an experience in the Information Technology Technical Course at IFRN
Abstract
Technologies are increasingly present in our daily lives. However, some students find it difficult to learn computer science content, as is the case with “Entity-Relationship”, in the subject of “Programming with Database Access”. Faced with this challenge, this research aims to develop a didactic resource, based on serious games, using unplugged computing, to help teach the content of “entity-relationship” in a playful way. The game was applied to the 3rd year of secondary school on the Computer Technician course, with each group being given a score and a winner being determined at the end. The practice showed that this teaching methodology helps in the teaching-learning process.
