App Development Training for Teachers with MIT App Inventor

Abstract


This study presents a training project for public school teachers in Goiás, Brazil, on developing educational apps using MIT App Inventor to enhance technology integration in teaching. Conducted at the State University of Goiás (UEG), Goianésia Campus, it focused on literacy applications, including support for students with special needs. MIT App Inventor enabled content customization based on individual learning difficulties, while individualized support allowed teachers with no programming experience to use the tool. Results showed increased student engagement and expanded teaching strategies, reinforcing the potential of MIT App Inventor in education.
