Accessibility and usability assessment of Brazilian digital games
Abstract
This work aims to apply methods for assessing accessibility and usability in national digital games. For this purpose, a systematic review was conducted to identify the main methods for evaluating accessibility and usability applied to digital games. For the evaluation methods, the guidelines from the Game Accessibility Guidelines organization and the heuristics from Pinelle, Wong, and Stach were selected. Both methods were applied in a case study to assess their suitability and understand part of the gaming landscape in Brazil. Although further research is necessary, the methods made it possible to verify the adherence of Brazilian games in relation to the guidelines and heuristics.
