Abstract

The introduction of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) in neonates under intensive care involves risks, and training in a simulated environment has the potential to reduce complications. The applicability of serious games is currently being explored professionally, as they simulate challenging real-life situations that, when solved, allow for the assessment of learning outcomes in professionals. This article presents a game project divided into 4 mini-games that is in its initial development phase. It is being created with the assistance of experts, aiming to simulate the necessary steps for the correct introduction of the catheter. After development, the game will be evaluated by healthcare professionals to test usability and realism, considering the competencies required for PICC insertion. Finally, it is expected that professionals, by playing the game, will learn the steps and perform the insertion safely.
