EcoAdventure: a digital game for children focused on ecological awareness
Abstract
The consequences of inappropriate disposal of solid waste in contemporary society are recurrent and increasingly serious. This work presents the process of developing a 2D game aimed at children from 8 to 10 years old, The objective of promoting ecological awareness through the playful teaching of environmental education principles, such as selective collection, the correct disposal of waste and understanding of the impacts of anthropic actions in nature. Using the iterative-incremental methodology in the game development process, subdivided into three cycles, as partial results presentif the creation and implementation of two phases of the game, as well as the characters, scenarios, mechanics and sonorizations.
