Abstract

With the increase in threats on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), there is a growing need for intrusion detection approaches that make it easier to defend against threats. However, the number of studies that address the existing Intrusion Detection System (IDS) for UAV security is scarce. This work presents a systematic mapping study about these IDS, bringing aspects of taxonomy, detected intrusions, machine learning approaches, exclusivity for UAV swarms, and standardization in development. A total of 56 studies were found about the research topic and reviewed, and from that, comparative analyzes were performed. Still, some future directions are indicated in the development of an IDS. Based on the search, this is the first systematic mapping of the subject.
