Mapping of collaborative mediation actions on digital platforms used in education

Abstract


The use of digital platforms to support Education was intensified during the pandemic with the adoption of remote classes. These platforms are still present alongside face-to-face classes and can serve to extend and mediate interaction between teachers and students, in asynchronous or synchronous moments. The present study aims to map verbs describing actions that represent collaborative mediations between members on digital platforms, in the context of education. To this end, a survey was carried out with teachers from different segments of the public and private education network, where content analysis was undertaken. The mediation verbs were categorized into groups inspired by the 3C Model of collaboration, organized into the following categories: Communication and Interaction, Management and Organization, Collaboration and Knowledge and Contemplation. As a result, mapping makes it possible to identify relevant actions for analyzing collaboration in virtual educational environments, which can create resonances to (re)think interaction and mediation practices between members.
