DRONECOLAB: identification of Dengue breeding areas
Abstract
The global increase in diseases related to arboviruses, especially dengue, stands out in peripheral urban regions. In 2022, FIOCRUZ recorded 1,450,270 possible cases of Aedes Aegypti. This study proposes the use of drones equipped with cameras and artificial intelligence to prevent the spread of dengue in Rio de Janeiro, focusing on vulnerable populations. Aligned with collaborative and community learning systems, drones map reproduction foci, highlighting technical effectiveness and community inclusion. The work contributes to public health strategies in challenging urban contexts, promoting community participation and technology integration to address global health issues, demonstrating applicability.
