VISHnu: An approach to support the personalization of self-expressive avatars using context-awareness
Abstract
This abstract highlights the relevance of digital avatars as representations of individuals in virtual environments. It discusses how the characteristics of these avatars can influence user behavior, emphasizing the importance of customization to enhance immersion and self-expression. The original article presents VISHnu, an approach developed to support avatar customization based on context. Three evaluations were conducted to investigate the effectiveness and feasibility of VISHnu, involving experts. The results include tangible artifacts, a checklist, and a glossary, intended to assist in the development of avatars that are more inclusive and representative of human diversity.
