The role of the virtual community in the process of building ontologies: case of the Electronic Government Platform Lattes
Abstract
It is evident the relationship between knowledge and ontology. The definition of an ontology mediated by communities has demonstrated not just opportune but also essential to its completeness. The increasing number of new communities with this purpose is living proof. This work establishes the bases of virtual communities and points out its characteristics, establishing the relationship between its formation and the concept regarding ontology. Also it defines ontology and shows examples of methods and methodologies for its development and management. Finally, it focuses on the model that represents the resources used for CONSCIENTIAS Community in the Lattes Platform in the activities of an ontology construction.
