Abstract

This paper introduces the GreenWeb framework, which aims at improving the quality of information on the Web 2.0. GreenWeb has 4 main components: (1) metrics and methods to estimate information quality; (2) profiles of users’ interests and system usage; (3) strategies to communicate content quality to users; and (4) methods to detect and reduce low quality content as well as to promote high quality content. In this paper, we present the challenges and solutions already developed for each such component.
