Abstract

The use of assistive technologies has been a crucial factor in the treatment of atypical children. In particular, a set of software has been used to help these children recognize emotions. Given the above, this article proposes and evaluates a mobile application called SunFlowerAPP. The application allows children to interact with a digital character through playful games. The application’s proposal is to be used during therapy sessions so that health professionals have more input to identify children’s emotions. We evaluated our proposed solution from the perspective of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The results point to positive points in relation to ease of use and perceived usefulness when using the application.
