Abstract

The multiparameter monitor (MPM) is an important electromedical equipment responsible for monitoring the patient’s main vital signs. A Brazilian company has developed a portable MPM that integrates an e-Health platform for recording physiological parameters in the cloud, including the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal, captured by electrodes connected by cables. When recording the ECG, especially in a residential environment, cables connected to the electrodes presents several inconveniences. Given the above, a low-cost electronic device with low energy consumption was developed to capture the ECG signal and transmit it via Bluetooth low energy, which is integrated into the MPM developed by the company.
