Abstract

Digital technologies are crucial in the evolution of sports practices, allowing for athlete performance monitoring. In Taekwondo, as a combat sport, there are still faces challenges in collecting data such as force, speed, and reaction time. This study aims at developing a solution for measuring the acceleration of a punching bag during Taekwondo practice, enabling the tracking of athletes’ technical progression. By using an accelerometer and microcontroller that capture and transmit data via Wi-Fi to a database, the system can be visualized by the athletes through a web page. The system’s usability is validated by athletes of various ages and ranks, achieving a 95% acceptance rate.
