Abstract

According to the World Health Organization, in 2015, 6.5 million children died before completing five years of age. Furthermore, circa 3500 babies younger than a year old die every year in the United States for unknown reasons, of which 44% have been classified as sudden infant death syndrome. With the help of the Internet of Things and wearable devices, applications such as keeping track of the information sent by the human body can be developed. In this respect, this article presents a project that proposes the development of a wearable device to monitor a baby’s physical characteristics during sleep, such as cardiac frequency, temperature, and position.
