Evaluation Proposition on the perception of Generative Artificial Intelligence ’s Impact on College Education

Abstract


In the early 2020s, the development and rapid dissemination of generative artificial intelligence systems, such as ChatGPT, Bing Chat and Bard, have generated debates about their potential impacts – positive and/or negative – in different areas of knowledge. In the field of higher education, these debates include discussions about possible changes in the ways of interacting with students and also of planning courses and assessments. In this work, a proposal is presented to evaluate, through the application of questionnaires, the perception of these impacts by university professors, as a way of contributing to future studies dedicated to this topic.
