Syntax-based inferences: the annotation of implicit subjects
Abstract
This paper presents rules for annotating implicit subjects based on five syntactic dependency relations from the Universal Dependencies (UD) approach. Two of these rules were proposed by UD and improved for Portuguese, and the other three were originally developed for Portuguese and can be applied to other languages with minor adaptations.
