Abstract

This paper aims to present the syntactic operation called conversion, which occurs in nominal predicates with the support-verb ‘fazer’ (do/make). We have noted in the examples that the most frequent converse support-verb is ‘receber’ (receive). There is another converse verb as well, as ‘sofrer’ (suffer), but it is present in sentences with a negative sense. The analysis was done based on the Lexical Grammar theory.
