Laban Movement Analysis Applied to Human-Computer Interaction
Abstract
This paper presents a state-of-the-art review in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), where the Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) method is used to analyze and describe the qualitative aspects of humen gestures and movements. Composed by Shape, Body, Space and Effort, the later is fundamental in research regarding body movements. From the 48 selected papers analyzed, we conclude that the characteristics found in LMA components can be used to parameterize body movements and relate them to emotions and intentions.
