Evaluating with Users a Method of Representation, Extraction and Measurement of Social Interactions
Abstract
A task explored in social media searches is related to the attribution of meaning to the interactions that occur between these users within those systems. This task is usually performed from the calculation and interpretation of statistical and / or graph-based measurements. In such a scenario there is a search for a descriptive model of how social interactions are occurring within the system, especially a model capable of detailing the actions performed by the users, the shared media, the applications and the types of devices used. In this work we present a method capable of guiding the application of a computational technique that allows the construction of software artifacts capable of rendering the representation, mining and measurement of social interactions feasible. The method is used to assess social interactions among Facebook users. As a result, we demonstrate the viability of the computation of the collective behavior of users of Online Social Networks from the application of the technique and use of the method. In a next step of the work, an assessment is made with potential users who have expressed their opinion about the method's potentialities.
