The Proceedings of the 1st Workshop on Advanced Virtual Environments and Education (WAVE2 2018) bring the selected and presented papers in the edition of the event held in Florianópolis/SC from October 4th to 5th, 2018, in conjunction with the 24th CIAED Congresso Internacional ABED de Educação a Distância - CIAED 2019. In this issue, the proceedings include 04 papers, which were selected through a double blind peer review, with an acceptance rate of 57.14%. The event’s Program Committee was coordinated by Fernando Moreira (Universidade Portucalense, Portugal) and Francisco Kelsen de Oliveira (Instituto Federal do Sertão Pernambucano, Brazil) who organized this volume with the editing support of Rafael Dias Araújo (Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, Brazil). The papers in this volume were submitted on May 21, 2018, accepted for publication on June 20, 2018, with the camera-ready version submitted on July 20, 2018.
