MARIOT: Automation in the Western Amazon

Abstract


The increasing demand for energy efficiency drives the search for automated solutions to reduce electricity consumption. This paper proposes a system for the automatic shutdown of air conditioning units in buildings, aiming to optimize energy use and minimize waste. The study presents the MARIOT system, which integrates the novel SRW-004 sensor with a touchscreen interface for managing electrical devices. Initial results indicate a 21.41% reduction in electricity consumption, with a cost of only R$ 45.00 per controlled environment, without requiring modifications to the electrical network. The proposed solution enhances energy consumption optimization and facilitates thermal management, contributing to waste reduction and increased operational efficiency.
