Listening Forum: Virtual Space as the Voice of Adolescents

Abstract

This is a qualitative research in the form of a case study that addresses the emotions that students identify as belonging to their experiences in their adolescence. For this purpose, the film Inside Out was used, in which emotions are identified as “islands that fall”, changing, and a discussion forum in the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment. The participants were undergraduate students in a discipline that addresses Educational Psychology and Adolescence. The main emotion that was identified was the island of family, followed by the island of friendship. The students were able to use the forum to exchange experiences from their adolescence as well as identify these transformations in younger siblings or friends.
