Resumo

This paper presents a methodology for analyzing polarized discussions on social media by combining and adapting existing techniques, such as stance detection and various mathematical evaluations on the graph modeled data. Using Reddit threads from the Brazilian presidential elections in 2018 and 2022 as a case study, we conducted an assessment of online political polarization. The results indicate an increasing trend in polarization and a decline in debate diversity over the analyzed periods.
