Bula Fácil: intelligent drug information application
Abstract
Introduction: This article aims to describe the development of an application called Bula Fácil, created to provide quick and easy access to information about medications. Objective: The project arose from the need to simplify access to drug package inserts, which are often lost or written in overly technical language, making them difficult for much of the population to understand. Methodology: The application uses tools such as image recognition to identify the medication and artificial intelligence to present summarized information such as indications, composition, dosage, contraindications, and side effects. Results: The tests showed high effectiveness of the Bula Fácil system, standing out with an excellent average score of 87.083 points on the System Usability Scale (SUS), which is considered excellent according to the criteria established by Brooke (1996) [2]. Additionally, the evaluation using the User Experience Questionnaire - Short version (UEQ-S) revealed positive ratings in all categories, especially in the efficiency of information presentation and the visual clarity of the interface. Most participants highlighted the system’s ease of use and usefulness, demonstrating its potential as an accessible and user-friendly tool for the safe use of medications by the general population.
