Resumo

The article presents a conversational agent designed to provide emotional support for individuals with mild to moderate anxiety. Drawing on different understandings and definitions of anxiety in the psychological literature, a three-dimensional model of anxiety was developed, comprising fear, tension, and worry. This modeling aims to foster more responsive and contextualized interactions, aligned with the principles of active listening, by enabling the system to recognize variations in the experience of anxiety and adapt the conversational flow accordingly. Each dimension is operated by multiple agents that implement stages related to cognitive restructuring, enhancement of self-efficacy, anxiety management techniques, and responsible closure. The conversational agent proposes an adaptable approach to digital mental health interventions, upholding ethical and technical standards without diagnostic purposes and without equivalence to clinical or psychological treatment.
