Abstract

To improve the teaching and learning process on computing courses, it is necessary to considerate many characteristics and situations that are enrolled in the student education. Hence, this work aims to analyze psychological profiles of students and dropout students, based on the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator). Using the Academic Types allows observing how much the individual characteristics may be a weight factor in his/her learning pattern and academic performance. Using as basis a previous work, the researchers enlarged the number of subjects in the sample, obtaining new evidence about the possible relationship between psychological profiles and dropout on computing courses. This result may be useful to the creation and refinement of teaching and learning approaches that considerate the individual characteristics of students.
