The Workshop on Computing at School (WIE) is an event held by SBC and promoted by the Special Committee on Computers in Education (CEIE) since 1995. Until 2010 it was a satellite event of the Congress of the Brazilian Computer Society (CSBC). In 2011, it was held in conjunction with the Brazilian Symposium on Computers in Education (SBIE) and, from 2012, the WIE became one of the base events of the Brazilian Congress on Computers in Education (CBIE). The main objective of the WIE is to publicize national initiatives for the application of digital information and communication technologies (ICTs) in formal and non-formal educational spaces, with applied works, such as transferring research results to schools or systematic reporting of experiences, involving the use of ICTs in an educational environment.
The Proceedings of the WIE are published annually, bringing the articles selected for each edition of the event.
